Thursday, June 13, 2024

The investments made by the Garofalo Health Care Group at Domus Nova and Clinica San Francesco were presented last June 12th at a press conference in Ravenna, three years after the acquisition of the two facilities.
The meeting, in the presence of Maria Laura Garofalo, CEO of the GHC Group, Michele De Pascale, Mayor of Ravenna and Tiziano Carradori, General Director of ASL Romagna, was an opportunity to summarize the investments in technological improvement and efficiency which involved both Domus Nova and Clinica San Francesco, through a plan worth over 5 million euros.
In both health facilities, the patient acceptance paths have been redesigned with the introduction of new areas at the entrance, the expansion of the waiting rooms and the simplification of connections for easier access to outpatient services.
At Domus Nova, the pre-hospitalization areas have been renovated with dedicated staff and optimizations have been carried out in the inpatient departments to improve environmental comfort. The operating rooms have been modernized with new technologies and a recovery room area has been created. An important innovation concerned the installation of a 1.5 Tesla MRI, the first in the province with a 70 cm gantry, which improves tolerability for obese or claustrophobic patients and uses micro-cooling technology to reduce use of helium, reducing the environmental impact.
A new surgical clinic for ophthalmology and orthopedic operations has been created at the San Francesco Clinic, equipped with a surgical room of approximately 40 square meters with advanced logistics and structural paths, which make it similar to a multi-specialist operating department. Furthermore, the Physiotherapy Service has been expanded to include pre-operative preparation with physical therapy programmes, reducing post-surgical rehabilitation times. Another significant investment was the Osco project, which led to the early opening of the Darsena community hospital, operational since March 2023, quickly achieved thanks to the collaboration between San Francesco and AUSL Romagna.
Maria Laura Garofalo, CEO of the Garofalo Health Care Group, commented: “Since the acquisition of Domus Nova and San Francesco we have started an ambitious project to expand services for citizens, modernize technologies and expand spaces to improve the patient service. Our investments confirm our commitment to the territory with profitable and constructive public-private collaboration in the interest of the entire system".
Michele De Pascale, Mayor of Ravenna declared: "In three years of activity we have detected positive investments from the GHC group for the affiliated structures Domus Nova and San Francesco which have led to improvements in the quality of services, technological innovation and operational efficiency and a good spirit of collaboration with the AUSL company. This is a synergy which, if it is virtuous, in awareness of the priority role that public health has in our territory, can contribute to further strengthening the health services available to the public. citizens of our territory and to pursue a real universality of the right to health".
Tiziano Carradori, General Director of ASL Romagna declared: “All interventions that aim to raise the quality of services and facilitate citizens' paths in accessing care, as in this case, should be welcomed positively. And they reinforce the importance of collaboration between public and private, aimed at responding to the health needs of the population".
