A long-term care structure with a Cardiac Rehabilitation Department and a Nutritional Rehabilitation Department. A centre of reference for patients who have undergone cardiac surgery and for post-infarct patients. All patients benefit from a multidisciplinary approach that includes medical, psychological and informative treatment. Villa Garda is also an important institute for patients suffering from eating disorders: anorexia, bulimia and complicated obesity.

A Nursing Home specializing in cardiac and nutritional rehabilitation, which provides diagnostic and treatment services on an inpatient basis, and diagnostic and therapeutic services on an outpatient basis.
The structure is divided into three functional units. It has 109 licensed beds, 90 of which are NHS accredited.
Treatment is provided by multidisciplinary teams, made up of doctors, psychologists, dietitians, nurses and physiotherapists.
Cardiac rehabilitation aims at improving the psychosocial reintegration of patients via a programme based on the most modern scientific knowledge. It is divided into two phases: diagnostic classification and rehabilitation treatment.
The Functional Unit for Nutritional Rehabilitation is a centre of excellence and international significance. Directed by Dr. Riccardo Dalle Grave, it was the first structure to implement, in Italy in the mid-1980s, intensive hospital rehabilitation treatment for patients with nutritional and eating disorders. The treatment, developed in collaboration with the CREDO Centre of the University of Oxford, is based on the theory of transdiagnostic cognitive behavioural treatment and is designed to treat adults and adolescents within all diagnostic categories related to nutritional and eating disorders. The Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT-ED) developed at Villa Garda Nursing Home for adolescents suffering from anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and other eating disorders, was evaluated in a controlled study and in three cohort studies. It was recommended by the recent 2017 guidelines of the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE).
Villa Garda also welcomes patients suffering from severe obesity or obesity associated with severe medical and/or psychological complications.
